Callum McGarvey

Carysfort National School

September 2009 – June 2017

It was with great shock and sadness that we learned of the sudden and unexpected death of our beloved student Callum on July 2nd 2017, just a few weeks before his 13th birthday.

Callum graduated from Carysfort N.S. on June 23rd. As he departed primary school we looked on proudly at an intelligent , handsome and kind young man who was destined for great things…….

Callum loved sport especially soccer and gaelic football. His favourite subject in school was P.E. and his most precious school memories were when his school gaelic team won the league cup and he won a medal at Santry Athletics. Like so many boys his age Callum wanted to be a footballer when he grew up. He was an avid Liverpool supporter whose favourite book was Steven Gerrard’s autobiography and his favourite song was You’ll Never Walk Alone.

In the class of 2017 Yearbook Callum wrote that his wish for the future was to jump out of a plane…. As we look to the skies we are confident that you are f lying high above us all.

Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilis.

Forever in our hearts,
The staff of Carysfort N.S.
