☘ ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ Newletter

Dear Parents,

‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ will be celebrated in Carysfort from Monday 13th – Thursday, 16th March.

  • 2nd – 6th class children designed posters ‘as gaeilge’ which will be displayed on the windows of the shops in Blackrock over the next few days.

As well as having many ‘in class’ events a number of school events have been organised.

  • Irish dancing teacher Ms. Joanne McDonnell has kindly offered to teach the Infant classes an Irish dance or two tomorrow Friday.
  • The school ‘banna ceoil’, Irish dancers and singers will be performing for all classes on Monday.
  • The annual 6th class ‘seó faisean as gaeilge’ will take place on Tuesday.
  • St Augustine’s school Bodhrán Group will visit Carysfort on Wednesday afternoon.
  • Thursday, 16th March will be ‘Lá Glas’ and the children may all dress up coming to school. This is a fun day and there will be no charge.

Please join us in encouraging your child to use their ‘cúpla focal’ this week. Is fearr Gaeilge bhriste ná Béarla cliste i rith Seachtain na Gaeilge!

A booklet entitled “Labhair Gaeilge Linn” is available in the Students section of the school website should you wish to view it.

Finally the school will be closed on Friday, March 17th as it is a public holiday.

Wishing you all a very enjoyable St Patrick’s Day.
Le gach dea mhéin
Norma Linehan
