☘ ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ newsletter 2018

Dear Parents,

‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ will be celebrated in Carysfort N.S. from Monday 12th to Friday 16th March.

A number of school events have been organised:

☘ Irish dancing teacher Ms. Joanne McDonnell has kindly offered to teach Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st classes an Irish dance or two on Monday and Tuesday.

☘ The annual 6th class ‘seó faisean as gaeilge’ will take place on Wednesday.

☘ The school ‘banna ceoil’, Irish dancers and singers will be performing for all classes on Thursday.

☘ St Augustine’s school Bodhrán Group will visit Carysfort on Friday morning.

☘ Friday 16th March will be ‘Lá Glas’ and the children may all dress up coming to school. This is a fun day and there will a €1 charge per child which will be donated to Special Olympics Ireland.

Please join us in encouraging your child to use their ‘cúpla focal’ this week.

Please make a note of the following events in your calendars:

  • The school will be closed on Monday 19th March as it is a public holiday.
  • WOW (Walk on Wednesday) will begin again on Wednesday next 14th March. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible walking to school that day.
  • We will close for the Easter holidays at 12 noon on Friday 23rd March, reopening at 8.50 am on Monday 9th April.
  • Please return all Trócaire boxes to the school for collection on Wednesday 21st March.
