School Closure

As you are aware from the Department of Education and Skills and HSE media updates we have been informed that schools are closing today, Thursday, 12th March, to inhibit further spread of the Covid-19 Coronavirus.

We believe that adherence to some structured routine is beneficial to the children’s wellbeing.

We have decided that the children will bring home some of their core class textbooks, readers and blank copies in their schoolbags today. Infant classes will bring home their core text books, copies and Jolly Phonics sheets (Junior Infants).

Store all books carefully over the weekend. Junior and Senior Infant parents in particular need to ensure that their eager children do not complete any pages of their school text books over the weekend!

Your child’s class teacher will email you separately from Wednesday, March 19th with details of class work for your child to complete at home.

We will send you work next week to be completed from Wednesday to Friday and you will receive another email with further work on Monday, March 23rd if we are still closed.

If your child is absent from school today, please arrange for an adult to come to the school to collect your child’s books from their class teacher from 1.30 pm onwards today.  Please make sure they have the name of the particular class teacher.

Please note that the club@carysfort will be closed as the school is closed.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy St. Patrick’s weekend. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support during these uncertain times.

Norma Linehan
