As the school year draws to a close I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your wonderful support during this past year.
Your cooperation with the ongoing school improvements has been greatly appreciated, in particular with the widening of the footpath and our additional accommodation project, which we are assured, will be ready for use in January 2018.
Congratulations to all our students who participated in so many school and after school activities this year. Great success was achieved in chess, drama, Gaelic football, golf, Irish dancing, National Children’s Choir, Santry Athletics and tennis. We had two ‘first’ achievements also when our boys’ and girls’ hurling team won their Cumann na mBunscoil final at Croke Park and our hockey team won its first league title. So we have lots to be proud of this year and much to celebrate!
A special thank you to co-chairpersons Marion and Suzanne and all members of the Parents’ Association for organising so many successful events for pupils and parents and I extend a huge thank you to you all for your extraordinary generous support of all their initiatives. Thank you also to the many parents who volunteered their time assisting classes who walked to various events this year.
To the class of 2017, we say a fond farewell and we wish you the very best of luck in your secondary schools. To the families who are leaving us this year, we wish you all good health and happiness in the future.
Finally, I want to say a well-deserved thank you to our teachers, classroom assistants, P.E. teachers, voluntary coaches, Tara and Kevin for all their various expert contributions to the children’s positive school experience this year.
In conclusion, I would like to remind you that the school will close at 12 noon on Wednesday 28th June and reopen on Friday 1st September.
I thank you once again for your wonderful support and cooperation during the past year and on behalf of the staff of Carysfort N.S., I wish you all a very happy, safe and enjoyable summer holiday.
Le gach dea mhéin,
