Laudate Festival by Maria

The Laudate Festival took place on Wednesday the 1st of February, 2017. You are probably wondering what is the Laudate Festival? Well I am here to tell you what it is all about.

It was an event part of the celebrations of Catholic Schools Week, it was the first time it was ever done so nobody knew what to expect. This event included 9 schools (including Carysfort N.S.), there were around 500 children! We had to sing 18 songs (a lot, I know). All our 3rd classes were chosen to sing at this festival. We had to practice every day and one day we took a bus to Kilmacud parish (where it was going to be held), we got a feel of what it was going to be like. So let me tell you about the actual day.

The Laudate Festival started at 7pm until 8:15pm but we had to be early so we arrived at 6:45pm. First we sang 4 or 5 songs to warm us up. We then sang all the songs. My favourite song was the 2nd song, Hiding Place.

It was nice to sing in the church knowing that Jesus was there, in the middle of all the singing we had a quiet time to pray. It was a great experience to be part of a big choir. I had a wonderful time and I am sure everyone else had a great time too.
